Sad news

We arrived home after two weeks holiday in Scotland to find our swallow’s nest smashed on the ground by our back door. Four young chicks were dead.

It seems the nest simply dropped from its high fragile position - possibly not enough for it to grip on - perhaps I will put in a couple of nails up there to give it more to grip on should it try to build there again next year.

Nature can be cruel.

While in Scotland we had a wonderful close encounter with a recently-fledged young White-tailed Eagle.

Nature is always inspiring.
