Walls Farm is located in the quiet hamlet of West Stoughton close to the village of Wedmore. It sits just a few miles south of the Mendip Hills, north of the Somerset Levels, east of the Bristol Channel and west of the historic city of Wells.

Walls Farm is surrounded by its own grounds of approximately six acres. Formal flower gardens, a productive vegetable garden, orchards and a large pond all attract a wide range of wildlife. Swallows nest in the garage, Green Woodpeckers are often on the lawn, we have our own colony of Goldcrests in the pines – and often a rather bold Little Owl sits and shrieks on the garden pergola.

The farmhouse itself dates back to the early 1800’s whereas the two cottages have been recently renovated from old out-buildings and now offer the highest possible standards in accommodation. Each cottage has a comfortable lounge with log-burner. Each has a self-contained kitchen, kitted-out with all you would ever need should you decide to self-cater and eat in, rather than visiting one of the local pubs and restaurants. Both cottages have a goodly supply of bird books, as you would expect, along with more modern comforts such as T.V. and wi-fi. All towels and bedding are provided.

Swallow’s Rest

One twin/double bed plus two comfortable sofa beds in adjacent large open plan lounge/kitchen. Log burner, wi-fi. The two sofa-beds are genuinely comfortable and fold out into proper full-sized single beds. This accommodation is usually used as a twin/double, however it is more than large enough to take 3 friends who would be happy to share the one large shower room/toilet.

the Duck House

Two good-sized twin/double bedrooms each with their own private bathroom with large power-shower. The 'wow-factor' is the large kitchen/diner/lounge with huge sliding glass doors that looks out over the garden. The cottage has underfloor heating downstairs and a log-burner for the colder months. This is truly a most comfortable cottage furnished to the highest level with wi-fi, t.v. and a well-stocked and interesting bookshelf.

local Bed & breakfast

If required we have access to additional en-suite rooms (subject to availability) at Poplar Farm Bed and Breakfast at a supplement of £20.00 per person per night. This very friendly and comfortable farmhouse b&b is located across the road literally a couple of minutes walk from Walls Farm.

If used, dinners (if included) would be at Walls Farm with your hosts Stephen, Graeme and Kay Mitchell. A full English breakfast is included at Poplar Farm.

Walls Farm Swimming Pool

There is a beautiful large indoor heated swimming pool which is available to use at the owner's discretion – please check before use. If used it will be on the understanding that the pool will be unattended and used completely at your own risk. The owners will accept no liability under any circumstance should there be any injury or incident whatsoever. Towels are provided but not swimwear.

On at least one or two evenings (depending on the package booked) the group will eat together in the main farmhouse with your hosts to enjoy home-made fare and to talk birds and nature, swapping stories of Golden Eagles, the famous Brue estuary Red-backed Shrike and searching for Mrs Moreau’s Warbler in darkest Africa.
